Legislative Action Network
Political decisions play a big part in our cancer care. Elected officials have the power to impact our cancer experience in countless ways, from supporting increases in federal funding for cancer research to eliminating disparities in cancer care access.
Hearing from people like us — the people directly affected by these issues — has a significant influence on the decisions that elected officials make and is vital to promoting awareness of our needs and to the continuation of Dana-Farber's progress toward eradicating cancer and all its burdens.
The goal of our Legislative Action Network is to provide you with the basics of advocating for public policy initiatives that help people with cancer and the resources to help you get involved in whatever capacity you feel most comfortable, whether it's picking up the phone, sending an e-mail, or marching with our elected officials in the State House or on Capitol Hill.
Please be assured that you don't need special training or a degree in political science. All you need to get involved is your story, your personal experience, and your commitment to fighting for a cure.
Please join us. Every voice makes a difference.
Sincerely,
The members of the Adult and Pediatric Patient and Family Advisory Councils
