Pediatric Programs
Radiation Oncology
Offered through Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Care (DF/CHCC), the Division of Radiation Oncology assumes a significant role in the multidisciplinary medical management and treatment of pediatric patients with cancer. As one of the world's leading centers caring for children and adolescents with cancer, the pediatric radiation oncologists at Children's work closely with specialists at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber to provide state-of-the-art radiation treatment. Radiation treatment delivers a high uniform dose of radiation in an effort to destroy or reduce-in-size a tumor while sparing the normal surrounding tissues and organs.
The radiation oncologists on staff at Dana-Farber and Children's are entirely focused on delivering radiotherapy to young children and adolescents, and they have completed special training in pediatric oncology and radiation oncology.
