To the Editor:
I am a nurse from the class of 1955 at Children's Hospital [Boston]. I worked for Dr. Sidney Farber as a treatment-room nurse. We had only one floor of very ill patients and little to work with, but even then, the atmosphere was one of hope. When we lost a patient, Dr. Farber came by to personally give comfort to the family.
Thank you for sending Paths of Progress [Winter/Spring 2003 issue]; I read it cover to cover. I am thrilled with the progress Dana-Farber has made in 50 years! Oh, and you failed to say how handsome [50-year employee] Mort Lederman is. His wonderful warmth and smile helped make our days easier.
