Dear Friends:
We are honored to represent Dana-Farber's Board of Trustees as the campaign committee co-chairs of Mission Possible: The Dana-Farber Campaign to Conquer Cancer. Like so many of you, we have been personally affected by cancer. Our experiences have inspired us to take an active role in striking out this horrible disease so that no one has to face a single diagnosis, endure an ounce of chemotherapy, or lose a lock of hair.
Bostonians and New Englanders sometimes forget that they have a world-class, comprehensive cancer center right in their backyard. But those of us who have witnessed Dana-Farber's work first-hand – including the patients from more than 30 states and 60 countries who have chosen to receive their care here – know how fortunate we are.
As philanthropic supporters of the Institute's work, each of us should feel a strong sense of pride in this institution's legacy – where it has come from and where it is going. But if we're going to make possible Dana-Farber's mission to conquer cancer, we cannot rest on our laurels.
We need everyone to step forward and help secure a future without cancer.
If we work together, cancer does not stand a chance.
Sincerely,
Josh Bekenstein
